I've Known Bob for most of my life. We where teenagers when I first met Bob Rigby in Kincardine. Perhaps my fondest memory of Rigs was from Sanctuary Saskatchewan, a wee hamlet north of Swift-Current. Bob was working as a farm hand for a mountain of a man named Dick Bull and family. I stopped to visit Rigs on my way back home from Squamish, B.C. to London, On., driving my old 1952 Ford pick-up truck. I ended up staying for an entire week helping Bob bring in acres of straw bails and other chores. But after the work was done, Bob and I would go duck hunting while driving around to all the little ponds or slues. We where not always successful but had a lot of laughs anyways. Then we'ed head to the pub in Sanctuary and that's when the fun really started. Usually his boss, "big" Dick Bull, would start some kind of ruck-ass in the bar and Bob and I would back him up or help break him up, which ever was needed.! One night on the way back to the ranch from the bar Rigby said lets take a short-cut squeak and proceeded to drive off the road and cut across the fields, all the way home. Some nights big Dick would get to drinking to much and decide to take a round out on Rigs but Bobby always seemed to wrestle him to the ground with Dicks wife taking the broom to them. At the end of the week Bob and I went goose hunting one early morning which was amazingly successful. The whole week I spent with Rigs was one of my best memories of all time. Bob was a tough little guy but he was one of the most Kindest, Generous, Beautiful souls I've ever had the Honor to call my Friend. I'll miss your "Gentle Ways" Bob Rigby.....Friend Greg Stewart (Squeak}

Bob was the best house guest anyone could ever have. He came and went quietly, always made the bed he slept in, ate whatever was served to him and was great company to have around, always telling stories with fond humour about his youth and friends or sharing with great pride updates on his family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and anyone who was family or like family to him. His love for and time with his family was obviously his greatest joy. He had great wisdom in his sense of humour and the twinkle in his eye was unique. He appreciated visiting Lake Huron and Bruce County - his teenaged playground with friends and young people's escapades. He loved the sunsets over water saying it could just as easily be the Pacific Coast instead of the fresh water of an inland Great Lake. He appreciated a Kincardine Saturday night Pipe Band marching down Queen Street in the summer watching for faces he recognized and those who recognized him. He was polite and engaging with everyone from babes in arms to the elderly and had a kind word and smile for all. His visits will be missed, along with his stories shared in his own words, his ability to look at a complicated situation and distill it down to a few words and a nugget of wisdom. He was proud yet not boastful. He was caring in a quiet way. He knew great joy and great sorrow. He knew who and what mattered to him putting the who before the what every time. He was generous with his time and a good listener. He asked for nothing yet gave so much. He was a gentle man and a gentleman. We will watch for his spirit on a warm summer Saturday night when the Kincardine Pipe Band marches on Queen Street.

I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Bob for 16 years. He was a very kind, gentle man who would help anyone who needed it. He could also tell a joke or pull off a gag like no one else i know. I will miss him deeply. Our deepest sympathies go out to Lois, Donavon and extended family. He was a gift to us on earth and now an angel in heaven. Rest in peace my friend.
