So sad to come across Dennis's obituary. I was lucky to work with him at SED Systems and always admired his patience and especially his bonhomie which got us all through some sticky projects. I was searching for his phone number so I could ask him to talk with my son about life in engineering. Of course he'd have agreed to because that was Dennis, always giving. God bless his memory and may He give his family and friends peace and comfort.

I am so very pleased that my career and Dennis’ shared a common pathway for some 30 years. He was a man of good humor and high intelligence. He was a diligent worker who rose immediately to challenges, who never gave up, and who then neglected to brag about the successes he achieved. He taught and inspired those he worked with, both his juniors and his peers, to do likewise. A genuine and gentle man of great integrity. He will be missed. Dawn and I send our sincere condolences and wish Judy and the family the very fondest of memories.

I had the good fortune to call Dennis a great friend and mentor for more than forty years. We first met as work colleagues at SED Systems when I was a young project technician and Dennis an (almost as young) project engineer. We shared many exciting and sometimes stressful adventures on projects that SED delivered to various agencies of the federal government, the Canadian scientific community and international clients. His calm demeanour, unfailing integrity and honest approach to dealing with whatever challenges came along earned the respect of everyone that Dennis worked with. On a personal note, we often got together with our young families to socialise on weekends, to celebrate birthdays or share our vacation time at Waskesiu. As time went on and I chose to pursue a career path outside of SED, we remained lifelong friends and members of our little SED alumni club. We made a tradition of gathering for lunch periodically at Cheers/Mcguires/Thirsty Scholar to reminisce and resolve the most pressing issues of the day. I for one will forever treasure the quality time that I was able to spend with Dennis.
Judy, our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to you and your family.

I had the pleasure of sharing house sitting duties with Dennis and Judy in Nanaimo in 2011 at which time I asked Dennis to tell me a little bit about his job. He had the calm patience to explain it in very simple terms in order for me to better understand. Having now learned of all his professional accomplishments, as a friend and Canadian I would like to say thank you, for the contributions to space science Dennis made and to extend my condolences to Judy Ryan Erin and Tara.

I had the pleasure of working on many of Dennis’s projects over the years at SED. Dennis was always a great Project Manager: fair and understanding, open to input from all, and a great leader. I learned so much from Dennis and am grateful for his help and advice along the way.
Our thoughts and sincere condolences to Judy and family.

So many memories that include Dennis. Family events, trips to Colorado, Birmingham and Orlando for family weddings, sojourns to Jasper in 1984 and more recently sharing a house for a 2 month stay in Ireland, visiting us in Yellowknife and Comox, to name a few. He was always so calm and steady and gave of himself on so many occasions. The world will not be the same without you Dennis. Your spirit has combined with Dales to watch over until we meet again. Rest In Peace

Dennis was a stellar man. He walked tall. We, as neighbours, miss him and will continue to miss him.

I had many great childhood Christmas and summer vacations with Uncle Dennis and family. His distinct, deep, kind voice is etched into my memory forever. I consider myself blessed to have had great role models in life, such as Uncle Dennis, to show what it means to be a caring, kind and good person. Rest in peace Uncle Dennis, until we meet again.
