Obituary of Jack McDonald
McDONALD, Jack
1934 - 2019
Jack McDonald, born July 3, 1934, a lifelong Habs and Yankees fan, a dryland farmer in the Palliser Triangle, part of 7 sisters and 4 brothers of the family of Edward and Sadie McDonald of Wiseton, married to Carol Graber of Elrose for 58 years, passed away on December 6, 2019. To know Jack was to see him with others: whether you were young or old, the person pumping gas, the store manager, the hired man, the neighbour he had known his whole life- they all received the same attention, the same humour, and most importantly, the same respect. As our Dad used to say, he has taken us on a long walk and we have come back alone. In due time, New York will start spring training and Montreal may get a playoff run, and the crop will be planted south of Wiseton, but our Dad will not be there. But he is in our hearts, with Carol, his 3 children Maribeth (Dan), Edward (Bridgete) and Greg (Donna), 8 grandchildren and his extended family and friends who will all miss him dearly. Jack’s family would like to thank the staff of Royal University Hospital for their kindness and care in his final days. A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Edwards Family Center (333 4th Ave N). Words of remembrance will begin at 2:30 pm. Courtesy parking is available in the Saskatoon Funeral Home parking lot across the street at 338 4th Ave. N. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities (1011 University Dr. Saskatoon SK S7N 0K4).
