Oh Marlene...It has been so terribly long since I last saw you. I remember your retirement party at St. Michael's school because we couldn't use the SIAST building. Right in the middle of job action, you were able to call it quits! So enjoyed your smile and your laughter everyday. Rest in piece.

What a lovely tribute to your mother, beautifully written and what a wonderful and loving woman. Sending hugs to Deb and her family during this difficult time. May she rest in peace. Losing a mother is devastating ... my deepest sympathies.

Marlene was a member of my Royal Purple. She was always so appreciative when I called her to tell her about the Lodge events. I will miss talking to her. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family. She will be missed by the members.

Marlene and Bernie were like second parents to my sister and I - and Debbie & Beth were more like our older sisters too! Grateful for all of the years shared with the Harksens while they cared for us, after school and babysitting. I still have the dollhouse Bernie made us. Very blessed to have that time with Marlene & Beth on her last visit to Ottawa. Marlene - you will be very missed, and always loved. Beth (Joe), Debbie (Joel), and Greta - our thoughts are with you all.
