Obituary of Edna Elizabeth Bindle

Edna was born on the family farm near Jasmin, Sask. On November 19, 1919. She was the fifth of 10 children born to Agneta and Erik Person. She attended Jasmin school a 3 ½ mile walk. Edna had the good fortune to spend her younger years and school holidays with her Grandpa and Grandma Larson. There were a lot of good times and shenanigans growing up with 9 siblings and neighbours close by .The 1930’s were tough times on the farm for all of them. Edna moved to Vancouver to find work and to be closer to her Grandma Larson. She moved back to Saskatoon in the early 50’s. She married Edmund (Ed) Bindle on April 30, 1955. Edna never had a license. She walked many miles in her lifetime and quite enjoyed it. She and Ed loved to camp and fish. They had a huge garden and she spent countless hours canning fish, vegetables and fruit. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and she created many beautiful pieces. She was a very organized person. Her Swedish heritage made her very proud and Folkfest was a highlight for her. The Norwegion pavilion was her favorite. She loved to cook and bake her Swedish recipes and share them with everyone. She was a kind and generous woman. Shopping was her passion and THE BAY was her favorite store. The best shoes were purchased to go with the most fashionable outfit. Eddie passed away on April 22, 2000. After he passed away Edna made several moves in Saskatoon as well as a couple of years in Calgary. Her final home was in Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon where she slept away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2019 at the age of 99 years. Edna is lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Adele Pearson and Grace Bindle as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ed, parents Erik and Agneta Person. Also her siblings Sigrid, Mickey,  Karen, Axel ,Arvid, Eleanor, Walter, Edsel, Dolores and their spouses. As per Edna’s wish no service will be held.
