It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Irene at the age of 89. She is survived by her son Brian (Debbra), granddaughters Lindsay and Christine (Philip), and son Ross (Elsa) and granddaughter Riane (Travis). She is also survived by her brother Ivan (Gwen) Jefferies, sister Orma (Bud) Graham, sister-in-law Jeanette Jefferies and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, parents Lily and Archie Jefferies, and brother Gordon (Jeanette).
Irene was born and grew up on a farm located outside of Glenboro, Manitoba. She married Harold in 1953, and lived in Brandon, Regina and Saskatoon over their 58 years of marriage. They travelled throughout the world, with Hawaii being a favorite location.
Irene worked for many years at Sears where she developed lifelong friendships. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Irene was happiest with her family around her supper table. She was an excellent cook, and we eagerly anticipated whatever she had lovingly prepared for dessert.
We would like to thank Warm & Cozy Care Home and Stensrud Lodge for the care Irene received over the past 4 years.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd, at McClure United Church (4025 Taylor St. E). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan, or charity of your choice.
