Obituary of Robert Stanley Trotchie
We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert Trotchie at RUH at the age of 64 years on June 2, 2019. Rob was born on January 1, 1955 in Saskatoon to Walter and Edith (Caron) Trotchie, and was the younger brother to Elaine, Gordon and Dave. He loved sports. At a young age, Rob started with YBC bowling which developed into a life-long career including the 1976 Canadian and World Mixed 5-pin Bowling titles. In 1997 he was inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame into the Team Class. He had a passion for golf, making many trips with the guys on the “bogey bus” and participating in the PA men’s northern amateur tournament. Rob was an accomplished dart player both in city leagues and provincial tournaments. He enjoyed watching sports; especially golf tournaments or the Minnesota Vikings. Rob enjoyed travelling, going to major league baseball games, driving trips with Barb and taking cruises on the Pacific Ocean to Mexico and Hawaii. Left to mourn are his partner, Barb Schmidt; step-brother Dave (Ann) O’Brian; Barb’s family Fern and Garry Schmidt; nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous friends. The Celebration of Rob’s life will be held at the ANAVETS Unit #38 (359 - 1st Ave. N.) on Friday, June 7TH at 11:00 am, please dress casual. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to charity of one’s choice.
