I worked with Bill in the Saskatoon HBC store in the 1980's. I knew him to be a decent, fair-minded man who always tried to do the right thing no matter what. He was possessed of a wonderful sense of humour, and could brighten up any day with a good joke, even one at his own expense. Bill would probably be a bit unusual in today's corporate world as he always put people, not profits first and he would go to great lengths doing so. Like the proud Dad he was, I recall he loved to speak often about his family, and there was no doubt about his deep devotion to them all. Similarly, Bill lived out his faith every day in how he treated others, and I never heard
of anyone who spoke ill about him. He was one of the good ones.
I will miss Bill and his enduring sense of decency and respect for others.
May God Bless you and keep you Bill, you're home now.

Dear Rayner family,
For so many years we were "across the street "neighbours on Salisbury.. Wonderful years of watching our families grow up and the neighbourhood mature. So many evenings we visited on the front lawn with Bill and Shirley-----good neighbours and good memories.
We share in your sadness and your loss at this time . We send our condolences to you all.

Dear Rayner family,
I have nothing but the happiest memories of Uncle Bill. Growing up without a Grandfather, Uncle Bill made me and my sister feel like the rest of his grandchildren. I could always count on a warm hug from him at our Christmas dinner gatherings. He was a kind, caring and loving man and he will be missed deeply by all.
Love,
Molly Rayner

Dear Liz and Bill's family
I will always remember your husband, Dad and grandpa as a kind, fair and gentle man. He was such a supporter of his employees and to this day I credit him as my greatest mentor during my days at The Bay. He didn't always like the changes that were happening, but after voicing his concerns, he always came on board and made the changes work for everyone.
Bill always spoke so highly of his kids and we all knew how very proud he was of all of you...may your sweet memories of your Dad bring you joy and peace today and always.
Liz, I know that you too have many sweet memories. May you find comfort in those memories.
Love
Wilma
