Obituary of Harold Wilbert Breadner

BREADNER, HAROLD
July 8, 1934 – May 29, 2019

With a heavy heart Berta Breadner reaches out to family and friends to announce the passing of husband Harold, during the night of May 29, 2019. With sadness and happiness, we know Harold peacefully and quietly went to sleep to greet other family and friends that have left before him. Harold and Berta enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Along with Berta, he leaves behind daughters Brenda (Rod) Mucha and Barb (Tom) Kuntz along with grandchildren Terry (Wendy) Mucha, Trina Mucha, Krista (Mike) Sali, Kari Burnett. With many extended family and friends, we shall mourn and celebrate his exemplary life. Harold was born on the family farm near Armley, SK and was able to see many parts of Canada and Europe. His service with Canadian Armed Forces as an air frame mechanic took him from start in Saskatoon, SK to Prince Edward Island, Germany and Moose Jaw, SK where he came to retire. He was proud of his career and his most discussed highlight was that of being Ground Crew Chief for the Snowbirds aerobatic team. Beyond his service to Canada, Harold worked with Eatons and Mayfair United Church. In 2004, Harold gained new life after a unique heart surgery at Edmonton Royal University Hospital. Since then he has been cared for by health professionals in Saskatoon. He enjoyed the extra time and shared his life experience with all he met along the way. To all who cared for him, we say thank you and god bless your caring hands. A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon).  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to “St Paul’s Hospital Foundation for Close to Home Campaign” to support the new initiative for palliative care in Saskatoon and area, or perhaps a charity of your choice.
