Obituary of Preston Francis Kobussen
Preston (Bud) Kobussen aged 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday May 23, 2019 at St. Ann’s Nursing Home in Saskatoon. He was born August 5, 1929 on the Vanscoy Homestead outside Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. From an early age, Bud was an avid hockey player and played semi-professionally. Bud retired after a lengthy career working with Canada Post. During his 30+years at the post office he enjoyed volunteering to write Santa letters and helping with the Heritage Club. Bud and Marie were married for almost 71 years. He loved the lake, gardening and puttering. Bud curled and played Old Timer’s Hockey until his early 80’s. Anyone who knew Bud knew he was passionate about collecting. And weeding. He is survived by his loving wife Marie, daughters Donna (Zenon) and Darlene (Rod) and son Glen (Robyn), as well as 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, Preston and Anne, and infant son, Greg. A Come and Go Tea will be held at the WA Edwards Family Center, Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 2 - 4pm.
