I, as my late Mom (Olga Burke) have always read the newspaper and of course, the obituaries and Ann Landers. I first saw this gentleman’s photo and thought “he looks like a nice man”!, then saw he’s lost his wife a few years ago and my next thought was “he can join her Resting in Peace”. I then wondered if his last name rang a bell? It did indeed. I will turn 54-years-old in June, my sister Patsy will be 55 this month. We were both “Baton Students” of Donna’s. I won a trophy at age three for marching; I have the trophy to this day. I quit baton at age 12 under another teacher Brenda as I am not particularly competitive.....I still remember some of the girls I “twirled” with. If Mom were still alive (passed away peacefully and in good general health 12 Sept. 2018 age 85), she’d have left me a voice mail while I was at work; “guess who passed away - call me later”.
