Me and my dad right after we went bungee jumping in South Africa. Amazing memory. My siblings and I made fun of his bad goatee the entire trip.

I trained with Omar in Vancouver back in 1992.
He was a great guy, a friend, filled with wisdom and humour.
Omar, you made the world a better place. Even after so many years since seeing you, I shall miss you.

Cheryl,
I was sad to hear Omar's children had lost their father when he was still so young.
It is not the usual way of things to lose a parent when he is not yet 50...
They will have many happy memories to sustain them as they cope.
Much love to you all, my niece.

Very sad indeed to hear of Omar’s untimely death. I had lost contact with him after attending medical school together, but will always remember him as a quick wit and remarkable young man. His entire graduating class will be very sad to learn of his passing.

I am sorry to learn of Omar's passing. I got to know him through friends when he worked in Prince Albert. He was a great friend and we enjoyed talking about a lot of topics and hitting them deeply. It was with sadness that i passed a restaurant in Vancouver last weekend that we each enjoyed at different times when we were in the area. Please know that you as a family are in the prayers of our family - that the peace that God alone can give would be yours.

The beautiful picture you posted Kim Morrison, reminds me of the wonderful memories we had as the Wing Night Crew. My condolences go out everyone who knew Omar, his friends, his family and especially to you Kim. I know you were huge part of each others life for the past year, and I know Omar relied on you greatly.
We will miss you Omar. I feel privilege to be, as you said Omar, your first real friend here in North Battleford.

Dear Cheryl and family:
I was deeply saddened to hear of Omar's passing.
Not only were we from the same Medical School, but when he arrived in Bellingham, WA, we started a friendship due to our school ties.
Omar was not only brilliant...the best pathologist Bellingham had ever seen, he was humble, funny and oh so special in many, many ways.
Our medical community missed him terribly when he departed.
I for one, will miss his smile, craziness and absolute brilliance.
May he rest in peace.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
Marta Kazymyra, and David Allan

Omar was my supervisor while at Calgary Laboratory Services. I am so saddened to hear of Omar’s passing. Such a gifted medical practitioner but moreover one of the warmest and most supportive individuals I have ever encountered. My deepest condolences to all his family members and close friends.
