1922 - 2019
Edna Mary Paterson (nee Ross), born Nov 2, 1922 in Saskatoon. She died peacefully on March 23rd, 2019 at the Warm and Cozy Care Home. Predeceased by her parents James & Florence Ross, husband Robert “Bob” Paterson, and brother Lewis Ross. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Ross (Langley, BC), 4 children: Robert (Sherry) Paterson, Judith (Howard) Steel (Orillia, ON), Mary (Tim Ziefflie) Paterson, Janice Paterson and 4 grandchildren: Pamela (Travis) Coppock, Jonathan (Emily) Steel, Erin (Dan) Turcotte, and Lindsay (Tyler) Paterson; 4 great-grand children and many nephews and nieces. Edna was born in Saskatoon and attended Caswell Hill Elementary School and Bedford Road Collegiate. During WWII she worked at Quaker Oats until she married Bob in November 1947. They also lived in Rosetown and Kindersley before returning to Saskatoon in 1968. She belonged to the ACW Sue Kelsey Circle at St. James Anglican Church and volunteered at the College Park School Library and Saskatoon Convalescent Home. An avid square and round dancer, she was also a member of The Wandering Wheels Trailer Club and enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, gardening and travel. Many summers were spent camping with her children at Radium Hot Springs and Invermere, BC. In retirement years she and Bob enjoyed bus trips in North America and Europe, cruises and many trips to Hawaii and Victoria with friends. A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Staff at Warm and Cozy for their Personal Care and attention given Edna over the last 4+ years.
