Obituary of Terry Michael Lysitza
Lysitza, Terry
Surrounded by his family, Terry Michael Lysitza, age 66, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Monday, February 18, 2019.
Born in Wakaw, Sk on July 8th, 1952, Terry was the first son of Mike and Mary Lysitza. Terry lived on a farm outside of Tway, Sk until he was five years old, growing up with his brothers, Harvey and Herman. At that time his parents purchased the Tway Hotel and the family moved into town. In his early years, Terry helped out at the hotel, attended school in Tway and then in Crystal Springs and made fond memories with childhood friends. In 1970, Terry moved to Saskatoon to study Natural Resources at SIAST. After his graduation, Terry worked with Saskatchewan Forestry Branch in Prince Albert for several years. Due to health reasons, Terry resigned from this position in 1979 and went to Red River College in Winnipeg to study photography. Finishing the course a year later, he returned to Saskatoon and worked as a free-lance photographer. In 1981 he began working with Canadian Blood Services until 2005 when his declining health forced him onto disability.
Terry enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially loved his time at the cabin at Wakaw Lake. Terry was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman and had many humorous tales to share at family gatherings.
Terry is survived by his wife, Jeanie; and two sons, Jordan and Aaron; brothers, Harvey (Karen) Lysitza and Herman Lysitza; numerous in-laws, many nieces, nephews, and life-long family friends. Terry was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary Lysitza.
A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 – 4th Ave North).
