Obituary of Loretta Irene Richmond
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Loretta Irene Richmond at age 84 years on Saturday February 9, 2019 at St. Paul’s Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Loretta was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Willard Richmond and her father, William Bricker and mother Anna (Ecker) Bricker Hynes and sister-in-law Irma Bricker, in-laws, Lois Hardy, Gerald and Lois Richmond. She is survived by her four daughters: Judy Curren and her children, Hal (Jill) Curren, Jill (Dallen) Hamilton, Jana (Derek) Berg, Jaala (Jordan) Kutz; Jackie (John) Thorson and their children, Katie (Jared) Carr, Michelle Thorson (Jason Ulsifer), Deonne (Stan) Hrynyk, Adam (Kathryn) Thorson; Beth (Perry) Bilokryly and their children, Alex Bilokryly (Kristen) and Laura (Jamie) Goodridge; Brenda (Wally) Sikorski and their children, Stacey (Kyle) Lawrence, Corey (Roxana) Sikorski and Callie Sikorski. Her 19 great-grandchildren of which she was so proud of included; Kaze, Rhys, Lexi; Levi, Quin, Coy; Rhett, Brooks; Chase, Alli; Zander, McKenzie; Rayna; Charlie, Eirik, Linden; Dax, Amity; and Mila. Loretta is also remembered by her brother, Calvin Bricker, in-laws Arnold and Joyce Richmond, brother-in-law Jack Hardy, dear cousin, Janet Saunders and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. Her school years were spent in Donavon followed by Saskatoon Business College. Loretta roomed at the YWCA while she worked for the telephone company. Loretta married Willard in 1953 and raised four daughters in the Donavon Community. Loretta excelled at sewing, cooking, gardening , wheat weaving and everything in between. She was an avid competitor and found joy in softball and curling. Her love of sport extended to horseshoes, lawn and alley bowling and also to coaching these very activities. She will always be remembered for her love of family. Through her creativity, her legacy will ripple through the generations. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 15th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Donavon Cemetery.
