Obituary of Beverly Johnson
Surrounded by her family, Beverly Joan Johnson passed away on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019. Bev was born February 26, 1958, to Earl and Jeanette Ballard of Hanley, SK, where she was raised on the family farm. Bev graduated from the U of S with a B. Comm in accounting. She was passionate about and respected for her work in family business, eventually becoming the national chair of the KPMG Enterprise Centre for Family Business. While working she also helped run the family farm, Lost River Ranches, and raised a family with her husband Ross Johnson. Bev was ambitious and hard-working and applied these attributes to many causes about which she cared, from sports and charity organizations to the many boards on which she served -- too many to list. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Her worldwide travels for work and pleasure indulged her love of learning, such as learning to speak Spanish. She shared many of these travels with her husband Al Scholz, who she married in 2013.
Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband Al; children Andrew (Gretchen), Nicole (Austen), Julie (Kurtis); grandkids Karsten, Kore, Sigrid; father Earl Ballard (Elaine); sister Shelley McKinlay (Andrew); step-children Aaron, Luke, Elysse; and many other family members, friends, and colleagues.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 812 Preston Ave, on Monday, January 7th at 2 PM. To honour Bev, attendees are invited to wear something red, Bev’s favourite color. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (direct funds to Saskatoon Cancer Patient Services).
