I first met T.Y. at a fitness class at the UofS and our association continued with subsequent classes over the years. Eventually, the 'class' dwindled down to T.Y., Roberta Wells, and me so the three of us decided to go on our own to the field house three days a week. I came to regard T.Y. as a good friend. I loved his sense of humor, his dedication to his profession, and his genuine interest in others. I regret that we lost touch after I moved to British Columbia but will frequently and fondly remember our friendship.

TY was such a kind hearted and wonderful person. He did everything with a smile on his face. He was so welcoming to all of the Nesbitts. My thoughts and prayers to the Henderson / Rice Families.

My condolences to TY's family and friends. I knew him a long time ago as my philosophy professor. I enjoyed his class so much I took a second from him. Many memories come back but one of the most entertaining was his recitation one day of Jabberwocky.

We can imagine how much you will miss T.Y., Judy. You were a great couple, with a youthful curiosity and enthusiasm that gave your relationship vitality and joy. T.Y. had a quiet, sometimes sly, sense of humour, and he often made me feel like he was much younger than I. We appreciated the surprise you brought us when you took the trouble to come to a family wedding in a faraway place, a gesture that was characteristically kind and thoughtful. T.Y. was not a burning flame, but, more important, he was a steady, permanent glow. He will be missed by many people in many places in many walks of life. Our condolences go out to you, Judy.

Dear Judith,
I am very sorry for your loss. I will treasure TY's memory, both his kindness and contributions to the academy. Know that you, Paul, and Ian are in my thoughts.
