Auntie Lourdes,
A Woman of Great Character, Influence and Elegance.
Her Positivity and Vigor for Life is something very rare nowadays. She is an exemplar that Education & Working Hard is vital to a successful and happy future. She always reminds us whenever we get a chance to speak to her over the phone during holidays and special occasion - to study hard and do our best and love our parents.
She may have passed away but she has left a good mark of Virtue in all of us - Five Brothers (Ian Jude, Karl Dexter, Earl Anthony, Michael Rey & Brian Duke).
Her Virtuous life is a constant reminder of how we all should lead our lives - without Fear and with great Love!
Up to this day - We still cannot believe she is no longer here. An Expected Call from our favorite loving Aunt, A Warm Embrace every time we meet her here in Cebu, Philippines (Her Hometown), the Great Stories & Lessons learned of her past and how she wants us to live our life with Joy, Pride and Love - We will miss our Tita Lou - She is incomparably one of the greatest figure there is.
Thank you God for letting her be part of our lives, wherever she is, we know that she is in a peaceful happy place.
Tita Lou – You will always be remembered and be in our prayers. We Love You!
Our Sincerest Condolences,
Brian Duke Fernandez, my brothers Michael Rey, Earl Anthony, Karl Dexter & Ian Jude. In Behalf of our Parents - Dr. Carlos Pacana Fernandez (her favorite brother) & Engr. Era Fernandez.

Condolences, Wes and family, on your great loss. Lou was always so kind and generous to me and I greatly enjoyed her warm hospitality each time I visited your home over the years. I will have fond memories of her every time I look at the two beautiful paintings that she gave me when I hesitated over which one to choose. Blessings to her as she goes forward on the next stage of her journey.

Dear Uncle Wes, Jackie & Walter,
Please accept our deepest condolences to your family at this saddest time. Your wife/mother was a very wonderful woman. She always had a beautiful smile and a very thoughtful words of wisdom – especially about family. Auntie Lourdes will be in our thoughts and prayers forever.
Her presence to our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary made both Papa Caloy and Mama Era very happy. It was also the longest unforgettable moment I had spent with her at Cebu, Philippines during my work vacation from Doha, Qatar.
We will always cherish the memories and remember for her caring loving nature. May God's peace be with her and to your family.
With Our Loving Prayers,
Karl Dexter R. Fernandez, wife Grace, sons Kyle Gabriel & Khrist Genesis

Dear Uncle Wes, Jackie, Wally
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Auntie Lou. My Papa Caloy is so close to Auntie Lou and was devastated upon hearing the news. Our deepest condolences and sincere prayers for everyone in the family.
She shared her time with us during the 50th wedding anniversary of her younger brother, my parents, Papa Caloy and Baby Era. I can fondly remember during her visit to our house that she gamely walked a good number of a flight of stairs all the way down. Seeing her at that age and displaying such grace and gratitude, touched me deeply.
She has touched her students, her family and those around her in so many positive ways. She is a blessing and an inspiration to a lot of people.
We will treasure the fond memories of her dearly and more importantly we will continue to emulate her positive example.
With Love and Sincerity,
Ian Jude R. Fernandez and Family (in behalf of Papa Caloy’s sons and family)

I want to extend our deepest condolences to Walter and his family from the members of Wesley United Methodist Church in Washington, DC., USA. Although we did not personally know Dr. Heber, we are blessed by the presence of her son, Walter, who is a member of our Wesley Music Combo and plays bass at our Worship Services on Sundays. He has shared with some of us wonderful stories about his mother of whom he was exceptionally proud of. It is clear that she was a very powerful and positive influence in his life. We will be keeping the entire family in prayer as you move forward in your lives without the wonderful presence of your wife, and mother knowing that she is resting in the bosom of the Lord and Savior where we will all be reunited one day. Blessing to all of the family from the Wesley congregation, I am Pam Rogers, music director of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Dear Wes and family,
I am sorry for the loss of Lou. She is remembered for being an upbeat person, always seeing things on the positive side. I first met Lou in the early to mid-90's while I was doing my Ph.D. in Engineering at one of the functions, I think it was the Santo Nino fiesta, where she danced the Sinulog (2 steps forward, 1 step backward). Over the years, I've seen her dance with you Wes in parties and always laughing and getting teased by you.
You have invited Hannah and myself at numerous occasions to you your place usually in the summer (Wedding Anniversary) or during Christmas. We thank you for the friendship and may her soul rest in peace.

Dear Les and family -- I am so sorry to learn of Lou's passing. Although we haven't been in touch since her retirement, I have fond memories of Christmas gatherings at your home in River Heights and then again in College Park. As a colleague she had an uncanny ability to make us think about our beliefs, and to stand by them. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Cindy Peternelj-Taylor
