Obituary of Joanne Lois Walker

September 5, 1942 – November 15, 2018
Joanne passed away peacefully on November 15, 2018 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask. following a brief period of illness.  Joanne is survived by her son Darren, wife Cheryl and three granddaughters, Katharyn, Emily and Amanda.    She is also survived by one sister, Marlene and her family, and two brothers, Bob and Gerry and their families, as well as two step-sons and their families: Rob and Lori with children Josh and Allie, and Wayne and his children Ty and Tatum; many good friends from the neighborhood and horse and race track circles.  She was predeceased by her parents Gus and Martha Arndt of Yorkton and her husband Elmer Walker.  
Joanne had a passion for horses which grew into the breeding of thoroughbreds for racing and later for jumping, and was well known at Marquis Downs.  The rest of her time was devoted to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, quilting, sewing, cooking, spending time outdoors on her acreage, gardening, and enjoying the company of her many friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the St.Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care unit for their compassionate care and Mr. Harvey Anderson and Dr. Diana Wilson for their friendship and support. A private memorial service will be held by the family in the coming year.
