Obituary of Margaret Lynn Don
DON, Margaret “Peg”
February 1, 1955 – October 20, 2018-10-20
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Peg Don on October 20, 2018. She is survived by aunt Jean, uncle Ken (Audrey), numerous cousins, especially Leslie (Brett) and close friends Jim, Cindy, Carlton, Joan and Tracy. She was predeceased by her father Norm, brother Bob and mother Helen. Peg was born in Saskatoon on February 1, 1955 and attended Buena Vista School and Nutana Collegiate. She worked for the University of Saskatchewan in the College of Education and St. Andrew’s College. She also worked for the Government of Canada in the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and for The National Parole Board. Peg was an accomplished artist and enjoyed setting up art groups at Second Street United church and Bethel United Church. After surviving a brain tumour in 1993, Peg was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2004. She still managed to create beautiful paintings and sketches until it became too difficult for her. Peg loved animals, especially cats and penguins. She wished that memorial donations be made to the Saskatoon SPCA or to Parkinson Canada. Her family would like to thank the staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre for making Peg’s last five years more enjoyable. A graveside interment service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Mark Trew officiating. Please meet at the front gates of Woodlawn Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
