Obituary of Dylan Kevin Robert Thorpe
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dylan on October 8th, 2018 at the young age of 27. Born to mother Gwen Nicholson and father Kevin Thorpe on June 6th, 1991 in Saskatoon, Sk, Dylan was an important and loving member of many peoples' lives. Growing up he had such a passion for sports such as basketball and football, but none were bigger than soccer. He lettered in high school athletics at both Walter Murray and Centennial Collegiate, graduating in 2009. Dylan was a proud member and beloved soccer coach for the Aurora Soccer Club, as well as numerous other soccer programs. A valued SaskTel employee, he touched the lives of everyone who encountered him. Dylan is remembered as a young man who was a fun loving, sarcastic, and selfless individual who had a profound, powerful, and everlasting impact on everyone graced by his presence. With a genuine love and appreciation for family and friends, he gave his time to all who asked and to those who needed it. He is survived by mother Gwen, father Kevin, step-father Kelly, brother Brennen and sister Leah. He leaves behind grandmother Sharon, grandmother Carrie, grandfather Kevin, aunts Michelle (Craig), Melanie (Aide), and Sherry, uncles Derek (Ashley) and Kyle, as well as cousins Liam, Kensey, Kyerra, Kayden, Sara, Sean, Jordan, Burke, Kelsey, Morgan, and Brett, along with many other friends and teammates who all remember him with love. Dylan is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Glenn and Eileen. A funeral service in memory of Dylan will be held on Saturday October 13th 10:30am at Prairieland Park Hall A. In lieu of flowers, donations will be collected at the service for a memorial scholarship fund. An online donation site will be available at a later date.
