Obituary of Violet Hunter
Violet Hunter died peacefully on October 1, 2018 in Saskatoon. Predeceased by her loving husband Thomas (2004), sister Marion (2004) and brother George (2015). Survived by her children Donna of Vancouver and Robert (Ken King) of Ottawa who will miss her greatly and remember her with love and gratitude. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends including Dolores Reid, Suzanne Kushner, and especially Elaine Patterson whose kindness to “Auntie Vi” was deeply appreciated. Born to Margaret and George Reid in Swift Current on August 1, 1918, Violet lived most of her life in Saskatoon where she devoted herself to her family and friends. Violet was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother; a loyal and thoughtful friend; an excellent cook, baker, knitter, bowler and a sports enthusiast. Her family deeply appreciates the kindness of the staff at Extendicare Preston who provided Violet with loving care. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 6 at the Chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home at 338 - 4th Avenue North. No flowers please.
