Obituary of Robert Franklin Hamilton

Robert Franklin Hamilton passed away on July 26,2018 after a brief illness in St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 87.
Bob was born Jan 13, 1931 in Kindersley Saskatchewan to Frank and Lottie Hamilton.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Bernice and survived by his sons Bill, Bryon, Brent Bruce and daughter Barbara. His stepchildren, Randy, Connie, Doug and Karen. His brother Victor and his sisters Irene, Iris,Gladys, Clara, Fern, Dorothy and Patricia as well as many grandchildren and extended family.
In November of 1937 the family moved from Invermay, to a homestead near Weeks, Saskatchewan and Bob worked on the farm and in the bush.
When he grew up Bob worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat pool and moved around the province constructing grain elevators.
In 1954 he met Betty Rasmussen. They married and started a family while still building for The Pool. When the family got too large for road life Bob moved to farming and did that for 15 years.
After the farm was sold Bob worked doing general contracting with his brother Gordon in Tisdale for two years then moved on to work for the Research Station in Melfort.
He worked there for almost 12 years till his retirement and in fact was awarded a patent for a gate latch system that he developed there.

He married Bernice in 1989 and moved with her to Creston, BC and later moved with her to Watrous where they lived till her death.
He never stopped building and renovated the house they lived in Watrous and built on a garage as well. During his stay in Strasbourg he was helping with the gardens and any jobs that he could find.
One of his hobbies was playing the mouth organ. He had a large binder of songs and would often play for the people around him. Another was horseshoes which he played a lot and competed as well. He played baseball and won trophies and mention for bowling as well.
