Obituary of Matilda Krivoshein
KRIVOSHEIN, Matilda (Tillie)
August 20, 1916 – July 13, 2018
Tillie was born at Hatton, SK on August 20, 1916, the youngest of 9 children. In 1924 the family moved to Viceroy and it was here that Peter and Tillie were married on October 12, 1941. They made their home on a farm in the Arlee district, later moving to Langham, Borden, Radisson and Saskatoon, residing here until her passing. In 2012 Tillie moved to Ilarion Residences and loved her time there. In February Tillie moved to Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre and passed away on June 13, 2018. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Bernice (Wilf) Epp, her son Mervyn (Arlene); grandchildren Kerry (Alain) Deault, Blair Epp, Todd Epp, Jason (Melissa) Krivoshein, Sasha (Chris) Taylor; great-grandchildren Sean (Mandie) Epp, Taiah and Titus Krivoshein, Sophia and Lochlan Taylor. Tillie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Tillie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1993, her father Steven Kabanuk in 1937 and mother Mary (Gruzensky) Kabanuk in 1983, sisters Anna, Paula, Alice and brothers John, Charles, Peter, Paul and Joe and several nieces and nephews. Tillie was concerned about the less fortunate and did her part in helping the needy. Tillie served her church as an active participant with the Community Services program, as leader for several years, deaconess, children’s story coordinator, Sabbath School secretary, and taught Sabbath School in the kindergarten division. Tillie’s other passions were gardening, quilting, jig saw puzzles, knitting and crocheting and while residing at Ilarion Residences she was known as the knitting lady. If she wasn’t in her room at the Ilarion, Tillie could always be found in the hallways visiting with her knitting at hand. A Celebration of Tillie’s life will be held on Friday, July 20th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church (327 Pinehouse Drive). Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre (2200 St. Henry Ave. Saskatoon, SK S7M 0P5) or Ilarion Residence (2509 Louise Street Saskatoon, SK S7J 3L7)
