I only found out today that Fred passed away. My condolences to Fred’s family and many friends.
Fred was my grandfather’s barber, my dad’s barber and, of course, gave me my first haircut back in the 1960’s! I always enjoyed his humour and friendliness every time I went in for a trim!
Kind regards,
Kevin Ferrie, Waskesiu Lake, SK.

Dear Hamm’s
I have known Fred for most of my life. Fred cut my Grandfathers, Uncles, Dads, my Sons and of course my hair. I always looked forward to having a visit with Fred in the barber chair. We would visit about old times, present times, family, friends and the more we talked the shorter my hair would get. Theresa would always say I had a good visit with Fred when I came home with a short hair cut – I always came home with short hair. I also had the pleasure to get to know Fred in other situations, he coached me in hockey and a little in life, especially when Bob and I would go have a Canadian Club and water with him and Myrtle before sowing some wild oats on a Friday or Saturday night. I always admired Fred knowing how hard he worked to raise his kids and never said a bad word about others. The obit said he was a gentle and kind person this is 110% true, he was a peach of a man who we should all aspire to be like. I’ll miss you Fred, rest in peace…… say hi to Myrtle for me. Jeff Repski

Our very deepest sympathy to you Elaine, sons, daughters and stepson of Fred.
Fred was my barber since 1956 and we had such great sport conversations during these times. I had the privilege of coaching St. Philip Hockey Teams with Fred, yes all ages, we laced up skates, rubbed cold feet and drove the Hockey Teams to the designated rinks. Cleaning St. Philip’s Rink was a regular chore of which Fred joined into assist.
Fred kept the statistics for all the St. Philip Teams and were displayed at the Annual St.Philip’s Hockey Windups.
To Elaine and all family members, dwell on the many wonderful memories you must have and know that he is at peace.
God Bless You All.
