Obituary of Eileen Alvera Miller
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Alvera Miller (Nee Guenther) of Saskatoon, the evening of Wednesday July 11th 2018 at the age of 87. Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her son, Calvin Miller (Beverly), their children Jacob and Ashley, all of Saskatoon; her daughter Jo-Anne Bobyn (Dan), their children Jessica, Matthew and Kaitlyn, all of Calgary; and her sister Shirley Guenther of Winnipeg MN. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Oscar Miller (1979), her parents Katherine (1982) and Adam (1995) Guenther, and her sister Edna Guenther (2012). Eileen was born December 23rd 1930 in Stornoway, Sk where she completed her elementary education, and later attended High School in both Yorkton Collegiate Institute and at Regina's Luther College. She attended Normal School (Saskatchewan teachers college) and University of Saskatchewan for training as a Teacher and later taught school in Rhein,Sk and Melville, Sk. Eileen and Oscar were married in Yorkton on March 1st,1958. Pastimes and hobbies included gardening, bowling, reading, knitting, baking, fishing, eating ice cream, going next door for “Awful Waffles”, and making noodles for her children and grandchildren.The family would like to thank the Palliative Care professionals of the Saskatchewan Health Authority in Saskatoon for their kind and thoughtful care of Eileen during the last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, please forward any donations to Palliative Care, St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, 1702 20th Street West, Saskatoon Sask., S7M 0Z9. A memorial service will held Saturday July 14th 2018 at 10:00am, at Saskatoon Funeral Home (4th Ave. and 25th St.) with Sue Panattoni as Celebrant, followed by a reception at the Edwards Center.
