Obituary of Loretta Anastasia Gilley
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother Loretta Gilley (nee Hobbins) at the age of 92 years. Mom was born March 14th, 1926 in Pontiex, SK to pioneering parents, father Maurice Hobbins (1968) and mother Alice Hobbins (nee Wells) (1985). During the depression year of 1931 Maurice and Alice packed up the family and went north to bush country where they first settled at St. Cyr near Green Lake. The years spent in the north were Mom’s favorite and most memorable. As a young adult Mom trained as a Nurses Aid and worked at the North Battleford and Lashburn Hospitals. Working life soon changed to motherhood which was the joy of her life. Family life and Church were Mom’s greatest pastimes to which all of her children are grateful.
