What a shock it was to read in an old Saskatoon Star Pheonix that Joan had passed away. I consider myself privilieged to have met, known and shared similar activities with her. She will always be for me a great model to look up to.
May precious memories of Joan give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. My sympathy and God's blessings.

Joan was a dear friend for almost our whole lives here, when Rosanna (R.I.P.) and I came in 2003. Her sense of humour, love for learning, and compassion for the less fortunate marked a life lived to the fullest, in which she treated both friends and family with kindness, gentleness and care.

Our deepest condolences to Joan's family and also Harold who cared for her ever so much. We truly know what an outstanding lady she was. We plan to watch the funeral live streaming as we were unable to attend.
You are in our thoughts and prayers especially today. Lois, John and Gladys from Moose Jaw.

Dear Scott, Drew and Roger
I am sorry for your loss of a pretty wonderful mom and woman. She may have become a "raging granny" but to me she would stand to rage against inequality all her life. On the other hand, she supported and worked to improve the lives of children, teachers and anyone who needed help. She and your dad were so well matched for each other.
She left a legacy that you can be very proud to share. Her boys were the most important thing in her life.
I will never forget Joan. Take up the cause guys. We need more Tom and Joans in this world. LRdpf

An inspiring, thoughtful and caring person. Joan was always available to help and encourage us all to be supportive to others and to ensure lasting programs which reflected the best in human values. She brightened every room she entered. B

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Joan was a good friend of my father's and I am fortunate I had the chance to meet Joan on a number of occasions and see her in action. She and Harold were very generous with their time & support to my family when my father passed away two years ago. Joan was such a lovely person - articulate, warm and caring. My deepest condolences.
