Obituary of Reta Elizabeth Sedgwick

Reta Elizabeth Sedgwick (nee Bale)
August 30th 1924 – May 19th 2018

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Reta is survived by her children, Vivian, Sheila (Don), Mel (Wendy), Carole, Ted, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Reta was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl, in 2005 after 62 years of marriage. Reta was born at the Bale homestead, near Elrose, SK. She married Carl in 1943 and they made their home in Montgomery Place in Saskatoon, when he returned after WWII. In 2007 Reta moved to Calgary to live with daughter, Sheila, and son-in-law, Don, who built a suite “just for Mom” in their home.  She loved spending time with her family, playing her piano, singing along, and enjoying her beautiful rose garden. Her little dog Candy was her special companion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reta’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The funeral services will be held at the Saskatoon Funeral Home at 1:30pm Friday, May 25th 2018.
