My condolences to the entire family on the death of Garnet which was far too early. We were neighbours on Spadina Cresent. I remember playing with the 3 older Hayden boys when they moved in and I was utterly grateful for more playmates on the block. We moved out of town when I was 9 and lost contact.
I remember playing in the basement with them, seeing a World War 1 helmet which was I believe was their grandfathers and later red rover in the front yard. It was truly a glorious childhood.
Sincerely Mary Lou Dodd and Lillian Dodd

Sorry to see that Garnet has passed, I'm sure he didn't go gently. Was always a pleasure to work with Garnet, though he was so soft spoken, sometimes couldn't hear what he had said. In high school , can remember getting hit on the football practice field and not knowing where that came from, until I heard that quiet "heh heh heh" as Garnet walked away. He had a good soul and later that year was the older guy that would pull beer for the younger crowd, when Garnet partied, everyone was invited.

To the Hayden family,
I was so saddened to read of Garnet's passing. A FELLOW from the old neighbourhood gone too soon. May the journey he is on now be quiet and peaceful. May your memories of this Tall Lanky fellow help to sustain you in your time of grief.
Sincerely
Barb West

Very sorry to hear of Garnet's passing. I knew him a long time ago; we went to King George School together. I was also the Hayden's paper girl for many years. My condolences go out to his family at this difficult time. Shirley
