Obituary of Garnet Edward Wesley Robinson
ROBINSON, GARNET
1954 – 2018
The family of Garnet Robinson would like to announce his passing, April 12th, 2018, at the age of 63. Garnet was the first of four children, born September 29, 1954 in Delisle, SK to Wes and Lorna Robinson. He attended Harris/Tessier School and at a young age developed a knack for welding and working on machinery. He spent several years working at Thompson Jonsson Trenching Ltd., Moody’s Farm Equipment and Camdon Motors in Perdue, and most recently Maverick Construction, where he developed some great friendships. Garnet also had his own welding company (Garnet’s Welding), and was on call 24/7 for all the farmer’s in the Perdue area, during seeding and harvest. Garnet is survived by his wife Carol, and their children Troy and Kalyn, his daughters Deavin, grandson Braxon; Angie, granddaughter Avery; Brandi (Cody), children Mavryk, Josie, and Jersi; son Carter (Nikki), children Cooper and Finnley; stepson John (Chantal). He is also survived by his brothers, Ken (Shelly), Chantel, Evan; Ab (Paulette), Dylan, Delaney; sister, Gwen (Ian), Ashley, Kenton, and his sister-in-law, Barb (Dowie), brother-in-law Bill. Garnet is also survived by his special aunts, Volda Brown, Evie Lockerby, Diane Machart, and Alice Page. Garnet’s greatest joy in life were his 7 grandchildren. He loved being “Gramps” and relished the time he got to spend with them. If he wasn’t teasing them, as he often was, he was picking and cleaning veggies from his prized garden. Garnet loved company and the coffee pot was always on. His house was “the hub” in Saskatoon and nobody could come to town without stopping by. His favorite comments were “What’s your hurry?”, “Stay awhile, have another cup.” A special thank you to Dr. Zaidi and the many staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, and also to all the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital, especially the Flex 2 Unit. Donations in Garnet’s memory may be made to Stars Air Ambulance, the Harris Cemetery, or a charity of your choice. A Memorial service for Garnet will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at Grace-Westminster United Church, 505-10th Street East, Saskatoon. Family interment will take place at a later date.
