Dear Schatz family,
Your memorial video of Logan’s life was beautiful and touching. Thank you for sharing such intimate images which capture the essence of Logan and the strong love of your family. I feel very honoured to have had a brief glimpse into his life and to hear his voice, see him play hockey, and watch his transformation into the handsome and talented young man he became. Logan must have been such an inspiration to his community and greatly respected and admired for all his accomplishments, including representing TEAM Canada for ball hockey and being appointed Captain of the Humboldt Bronco’s team for several years. While his athletic and leadership skills were impressive, reading about a random act of kindness shown to a stranger reveals his true heart and character.
Like so many other Canadians, I want you to know how profoundly, deeply and immensely sorry and heartbroken I am over the loss of this very special person. Logan and his teammates have captured the attention and respect of the world and will never be forgotten. They will live on forever in all of our hearts.

Rest easy young man... you will always be remembered. Score lots up there with your team mates, coaches, statistician, athletic therapist with radio announcer calling the play by play. You are in the worlds hearts forever.

May the words, and thoughts, of a stranger and the lyrics in a song by Celine Dion bring you comfort in your loss :
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

On behalf of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association I pass on our profound condolences to your family. I had the extreme pleasure of coaching Logan at the 2016 World Championships when he played for Team Canada in Sheffield England. That entire team had a special bond to this very day and I am sure I speak for all of us involved in sharing our grief with the family. Logan's extended ball hockey family grieves with you all over our great country.
I clearly remember Logan's bright demeanour and winning attitude with everything he was involved with. He was an exceptional young man who left a lasting impression on me and all he came into contact with indeed!! I thank Logan's family for having him be a part of the Junior Team Canada program and for all the time and passion they shared along with Logan for the game of Ball Hockey in our country. The CBHA has lost a star in the game but heaven has gained a heck of a player!!
