Obituary of Beatrice Bernadette Juliette Marie Gibson
GIBSON, Beatrice (Bea) It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our mother and grandmother Bea on March 28th 2018 at the age of 70. She fought like no other during her brave battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Her determination and positive attitude was never lost. Bea was born and raised in Val Marie, SK on April 25th 1947. She was the 2nd youngest of 17 siblings. Bea leaves behind her son Rocky (Corrine), his 2 sons, Tyrell and Issac Tobin. Her daughter Candice (Bob), her 2 children Chanelle (Devon Marshall) and Ethan Christie. Sister Delores Wingerter, Sister Noella (Raymond) Park, Sister Yvonne (Bob) Nelson, Sister Alida (Dan) Genn, Brother Roger (Donna) Sincennes, Many special nieces and nephews. And not to be forgotten, her treasured companions, her dogs Wylie and Torie.
Predeceased by her spouse and business partner, Reg Nelson, June 18th 1993. Her parents, 11 siblings and many other special members of her extended family.
For the last 33 years Bea has owned and operated Reg’s General Store in La Loche, SK. Even after the sudden passing and terrible loss of Reg, she continued to grow the business. In the earlier years she worked management positions along with attending Marvel Beauty School while her children were young. Once she received her certificate she opened a salon for a few years.
Her generous heart and willingness to always help anyone will be missed by many. She was a women of great strength and ambition. She persevered through many hard times in her life always rising above them.
Anyone who knew her, knew how much she loved her grandchildren. She was often caught bragging about just how great they were. Bea’s other favourite thing was Las Vegas. She had enjoyed many wonderful trips through the years with her family.
A Celebration of Life for Bea will be held on Sunday April 22nd at 11am at the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
A special thank you to the staff of the Seniors First Program. The support and care provided, allowed Bea to live in her home as long as she could. And to the Doctors and RUH Staff of 6200, thank you for your compassion and care in her last days.
