Obituary of Jean Green

M. Jean Green died peacefully on March 13th, 2018 at the age of 92 having braved cancer. Jean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Howard Green, daughter Heather (Alan) Groat, Rachael, Sarah (fiancé Brody), and Nathan; son Ian (Karen), Jordan and Ryan. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mabel (nee McManus) McArthur and sister Charlotte Swedberg.

Jean grew up in Orillia, Ontario, became a teacher, met Howard and married him on August 7th, 1954.  In 1957 Jean and Howard went to Japan where they served with the Japanese Anglican Church for 18 years.  Jean spent much of her time involved with her family and church community. She enjoyed time at the lake, skiing, skating, and travelling well into retirement.
She will be fondly remembered for the way in which she touched many people's lives. 

A celebration of Jean's life will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. John's Anglican Cathedral, Saskatoon at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be given to Camp Okema, the Restoration Fund of St. John’s Cathedral, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
