Obituary of Pauline Agusta Comerford Page

Pauline passed away early Sunday morning February 4th, 2018 at 108 years of age. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, her daughters Bev Coutts and Linda Tessman (Vern), daughters-in-law Joan Page and Theresa Page, and son-in-law David Fretwell, grandchildren Dione, Kimberley, Jennifer (Martin), Jason, Leslie (Doug), Christopher and 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Earl, daughter Ruth and sons Donald and Douglas. Mum was born October 26, 1909. The seventh of nine children, born at her Uncle's farm house near Mullingar, Sask. since her family home was destroyed in a prairie fire. She spent most of her life in that same small community where she married the boy from the next farm and raised five children. She was a continuous learner, always interested in current events and was an avid reader. Mum had artistic talents and presented them through her cake decorating, flower arrangements, gardening skills and her love of cooking and baking. Her life revolved around her family; while never wanting to be the centre of attention she liked nothing better than to be surrounded by loved ones. The Grandchildren cherish their memories of Christmas, kuffles and gingerbread houses. Mum moved to Saskatoon in 1993 to Harry Landa Court where she resided until 2017. She embraced the social times at the court, especially playing bingo, cards and the pot lucks. She enjoyed her many visitors, both family and friends. She always had fresh baking on hand and was ready for a game of cards. She had the unique ability to make each visitor feel special. Mum's memory was the envy of all of us and she was an amazing historian. Mum was a member of Mayfair United Church and Mayfair Carpet Bowlers. Many will remember her as the lady who went to Churchill at 105 to see the polar bears! She also dropped the puck at the Blades game that year. In November 2017 health issues forced her to move to Central Haven Special Care Home. (Thanks to the staff there for their loving care.)
