Obituary of Alden 'Tom Wriight
Wright, Alden (Tom) - It is with heavy hearts but with wonderful memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Tom Wright (90) on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon with family by his side. Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, of 67 years and his children Barbara (Les), Glen (Elinor), Ellen (Tim), Gordon (Sandy), and Rob (Paula), 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by infant son, James.
Tom and Jean lived in the community of Aylesbury where they farmed for many years. He had a strong sense of community and had a responsibility to participate in church and town affairs as an Alderman and as a member on the church board. In 1989 he retired and he and Jean moved to Saskatoon to be closer to family. During this time he took up woodwork and filled his children’s homes with beautiful furniture, which will always be cherished. Much of his time was spent with his grandchildren leaving them with many memories of time spent with him in his shop or out in their beautiful yard sitting by the pond. In September Tom and Jean celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary, which he proudly shared with all. Tom’s family could not be more proud of the true gentleman that he was and we feel so blessed for the years we’ve shared.
The family wishes to thank all of the caring helpers that Tom has met at Preston Park II, Luther Care at Stonebridge and lastly Trinity Manor. We wish to thank Donna from Luther and Kim at Trinity for the extra special care and kindness shown to dad in these last months.
