Obituary of Colleen Joy Madsen
Colleen Joy Madsen
June 27th, 1936 – December 1st, 2017
It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Colleen J. Madsen, late of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, wife of Frank, mother of Kent (Saskatoon) and Marnie (Toronto) grandmother to Lili, Sofia, and Lorenzo (Toronto). Colleen is survived by beloved cousins Tom, Diane, Jennifer and Kevin (Smeaton) as well as numerous cousins, extended family and dear, special friends. Colleen endured several years of poor health with dignity and spent her final years at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre where she was nurtured and loved until her final hour. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Stewart, Maria, Kevin, and everyone at Sunnyside for their care, support and kindnesses they have provided Colleen and all of us over the years. Colleen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family. Weekends at the lake were especially happy times, quiet walks along the shores of Georgian Bay rock collecting, bird watching, photographing Saskatchewan sunsets at Lac La Peche and visiting art galleries and bookstores were favourite special moments. Colleen took great comfort in her pets and a was a devoted cat and animal lover. Colleen was a dignified lady, loyal to her friends and a woman whose generosity and kindness knew no boundary. Her humanity and the dignity she always afforded others will be remembered and missed by everyone whose life she touched.
