Obituary of Keith Carl Ziegler

Keith Carl Ziegler passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 15, 2017 at the age of 89 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre in Saskatoon. Keith was born in Kitchener, Ontario , April 17, 1928 and as a young man worked alongside his father in Webber Feed and Seed Company until he enlisted with the RCMP on April 8, 1947. He proudly served until January 6, 1982 retiring as Superintendent of Saskatoon Subdivision. Several of Keith's accomplishments included being a part of the RCMP Musical Ride performing at the Queen's Coronation in 1953, receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal, the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal and the RCMP Long Service Medal with Silver Clasp and Stars. Upon retirement from the RCMP Keith had a second career as a Provincial Traffic Court Justice for 11 years. Keith had a lifetime passion for hockey, boxing, swimming, handball, spinning classes, aqua fit, and horseback riding. He was a strong supporter of the Shriner's, YMCA, Kiwanis, RCMP Veterans and Grace-Westminster United Church. Dad was a great story teller and had an amazing memory for names, places and events and entertained all generations of his family with his life's escapades. Dad was dearly loved and will be missed. Keith is survived by his loving children, son Kirk (Debora), daughter Karen (Paul) Chisholm. Grandchildren Jesse and Erin (Brendon) Lobraico, Mathew and Jason (Julia) Chisholm, Great grandchildren Noah and Jacob Lobraico. Stepson, Scott (Maureen) Bonli and stepdaughter, Jane (David) Boone. He was predeceased by his Mother, Elizabeth and Father, Clare, his first wife, Phyllis, his sister Phyllis Doherty, and his second wife Elsa. The family wishes to thank Doctor Naiyar Khayyam and the wonderful staff at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre for their compassionate care throughout his time there.

Funeral

A celebration of Keith's life will take place at Grace-Westminster United Church, 505-10th Street East, Saskatoon on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm following a private interment with family.
