Obituary of Audrey Lovegrove

Audrey Jennette Lovegrove Feb. 1942-Sept. 2017 It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey announce her passing on September 14th, 2017 with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband Doug of 51 years, son Randy (Diane) Lovegrove, daughter Maureen Lovegrove (Peter Bilanski), grandson Devon Lovegrove and granddaughters Brooke Lovegrove and Kasey-Ann Bilanski, Diane's sons Brandon and Bryan Panasiuk all of Saskatoon. She is also survived by her sisters Marjorie (Robert Scully) of Edmonton, Alta., Cathie (Lawrence Natyshak) of Indian Head, Sk., Shirley(Glenn Barclay) Biggar, Sk., brother Charlie (Rose Marie Broustal) Ashern, Man., sister in laws Heather (Michael Fitzsimmons) Clinton, Ont., Joanne Lovegrove (Doc) Cargill, Ont., and many nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Charles and Edith Langdon, sister Roberta Anderson, brother in law Andy Anderson, father in law Howard Lovegrove and mother in law Lorna Lovegrove. Audrey was born in Toronto, Ont., Feb. 7, 1942. When world war two was over her family moved back to the family farm in the Resource district of SK. south of Melfort. She attended Golden Stream one room school from grade 1 to 8 and then MCCI in Melfort from grades 9 to 12. Following graduation Audrey moved to Saskatoon to take laboratory technology at City Hospital. Audrey was a very bright student as she was chosen as the Valedictorian in Saskatoon. After graduation she worked for one year at City Hospital and then moved to Winnipeg to work in the chemistry lab at Winnipeg General Hospital. Audrey taught Chemistry to students, many who kept contact with her over the years. It was in Wpg. that she met the love of her life Doug Lovegrove. They were married Sept 3, 1966. Upon the arrival of thier son Randy in the spring of 1972, Audrey took time off from work to look after Randy. In the fall of 1972 Audrey, Doug and Randy moved back to Saskatoon. In the fall of 1974, daughter Maureen arrived and the Lovegrove household got very lively. Early in 1980's, Audrey worked for 2 years in Genetic Research Lab at the U of S, she then took re-training and went to work at City Hospital for one year and from there moved to the Hematology Lab at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, where she worked until retirement in 2007. Work may not have always been perfect but Audrey was always up for the challenge. Audrey was a long time member of the Kinettes, K-ette club in both Wpg and Sktn. Audrey and Doug retired to the resort village of Thode at Blackstrap Lake. They spent over 12 years enjoying boating, fishing, winter sports, and playing in the sand with their 3 grand children. They hosted many family gatherings enjoyed by all. Audrey also liked to to do a variety of household crafts, work in her garden and grow beautiful flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
