Obituary of Lucia Otillia Konecnik

LUCIA OTILLIA KONECNIK With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lucy passed peacefully with family and friends by her side in St. Paul’s Hospital on July 1st, 2017 at the age of 87. Left to mourn are her children: Gunther Konecnik(Maida) Frank Konecnik(Barbara) Jeffrey Konecnik(Amy) Gloria Konecnik(Chris Cumming) and Trent's wife Leesa Konecnik As well as her sister Paula and brother-in-law Ivan Zahariev - New York, brother in law Edwin Povhe - Saskatoon and several other relatives living in Germany. With open arms, Lucy will be met in heaven by her husband Maximillion, her daughter Antonia, her son Trent and her friend and sister-in-law Josephine Povhe. With immeasurable love Lucy will always be remembered by her grandchildren: Carlene, Daniel and Andrew (Antonia) Cameron and Tara (Gunther) Amy (Frank) Chrystal, Linda, Shannon and Graham (Jeffrey) Travis, Kristen and Michael; Matthew, Katherine, Heather, Victoria and Andrew (Gloria and Chris) Jonah and Aiden (Trent) Plus their partners, her twenty-two great grandchildren, And nieces and nephews Dorothy, Julia and Erica(Edwin & Josephine Povhe); Marika and Vieden(Ivan & Paula Zahariev) Lucy was born in Mernes, Germany in 1930. She met and married Max Konecnik then immigrated to Canada in August of 1955, and settled in Asquith, Saskatchewan where they resided until Max's passing in 1981. Lucy then moved to Saskatoon and was a professional cook working at various restaurants until her retirement. Lucy loved her volunteer work at Canadian Blood Services, where she received a volunteer recognition award. Lucy excelled at knitting blankets for her grand and great grandchildren, and also donated many of these blankets for babies in the Saskatoon hospitals. We wish to thank homecare for their excellent care provided to our mother in the last several years of her life. We also wish to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thank you to Verna and Marvin Bastian for their amazing, loving care over the years. She will be missed by her many friends from Saskatoon and area. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers my be made to the Heritage Lake Bible Camp, c/o Church of Christ Saskatoon, 134 Cardinal Cres. Saskatoon, SK S7L 6H6.

Funeral

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Church of Christ, 134 Cardnial Cres. Saskatoon.
