Cathy
I Grew up with Pat Bob Cathy and Leanne. - like cousins. Our parents partied and traveled together. Kids partied together.
As life placed some distance between us it was only geographical. Cathy and I could go months not talking and sometimes years not seeing each other but it never made a difference. Our connection stayed strong and our memories kept us laughing and moving forward in our friendship.
She was my maid of honor when I first married and my last name changed to "Quick". Cathy was determined I would name my first born "neslie"
She was so supportive through the trials in my life. And creative. I think we worked out a dozen ways to make macaroni and cheese.
Our sing songs around the piano and Cathys prowess at the operatic scores kept us all in stitches.
I lost count how many tree wells I pulled her out of as we terrorized the ski slopes in BC
We learned how to drive a standard on the farm and spent many summer days throwing bails, feeding the calves and cooking for the boys I'm sure they still pine for st Patrick's day when Cathy and I would create green pancakes green macaroni and green scallop potatoes.
Watching a movie with Cathy was always interesting... "Who is that" why is he going so fast" when are the bad guys coming" " what is that guy going to do?" Oh oh I can't look". Everyone around her, myself included, had to say more than once - shshsh and watch!!
My most memorable activity was setting our kelowna Christmas trees up at Halloween when Lorne and Cath made their fall visits with uncle nick and Aunty Eileen. As you all know Cathy was the life of any party or event! Bocci ball star and Queen of all our hearts.
She will want us to honor her by carrying on traditions and memories with joy in our hearts even though, right now that feels impossible. Love to all her family and friends. But especially Lorne- her heart of hearts.

Expressing our sadness is difficult. It seems that God would only take someone special at Christmas - must have needed a Christmas angel. Our sincere sympathy to all.
