My heartfelt condolences to Sister Alfreda Anton's family. I was so very privileged to work with Sister at the newly relocated St. Patrick's School in Medicine Hat. I was her replacement when she made her pilgrimage to Medjugore and then worked with her on staff at St. Pat's. What a truly wonderful, soft-spoken and faith-filled person! She was a very calm and gifted teacher and she could bring some of those 'unruly' little boys before Jesus to pray for forgiveness! With a smile and a chuckle she would liven up the staff room! We have a school song that she wrote: 'God gave us His gifts so many:
parents, teachers, friends to guide.
Helping us with love and kindness,
God is ever at our side.
May the lessons learned at St. Patrick's
ever guide us on our way.
Lead us on through life's long journey
Till the light of Eternal day.'
We sang it today, as we do every year on the last day of school, in tribute to dear Sister Alfreda.
Sincerely, Patti Crews

Our Deepest Sympathies go out to The family of Sister Alfreda.
The Sletvold Family was able to meet Sister Alfreda and Sister Louise and while they were in Medicine Hat they had a deep impact on helping us to be great catholics. They used to host families at their house for family time after Sunday mass. Sister Louise had taken the grown ups and Sister Alfreda took the kids. She taught us more about God and bringing out our creativity in drawings and paintings of who God was to us.
I was also fortunate to have Sister Alfreda as my Grade 3 teacher at St. Patrick's School. Outside of School both Sister Alfreda and Sister Louise would invite our family over for Suppers, They also made it to our birthdays.
After I was done High School they would invite me over to help them with assembling furniture that they had replaced as I was and still am working at Staples.
Sister Alfreda always had a beautiful smile. If she had not been a part of my life while growing up, then I don't think my Faith would have been as strong as it is today. She will be truly missed, but I know she is with God now watching over all her children she help nourish.
Nicholaus Sletvold and the Sletvold Family.

Thoughts and prayers for the family of one of my most cherished Teachers.
She was so caring and accepting and always had a way to make me smile.
It has been 50 years since I sat in her classroom and it is with fond memories I think of her often and all she taught me.
I believe she played a large role in who I am today and my love for God.
May she rest easy now,
It's not goodbye, but see you again ❤️

To the family of dear Sister Alfreda, my heartfelt condolences. Sister Alfreda was a wonderful disciple of Christ. I have very fond memories as an Associate of the Ursuline Sisters of Prelate. The big red house in Medicine Hat was host to many summer retreats in which both Sister Alfreda and Sister Louise led beautiful discussions with volumes of photocopied pages for us “ to take home”.
There was no air conditioning so we did an extra “ penance”. Those were beautiful days. They were such a god-send to our community.
May she rest in peace. Cathy Smith
