It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Uncle Jack. Having lost my own wonderful father, I know how hard it is to miss such an incredible force of nature and pillar of all thi gs family. Know however that like me, you will probably think of your father daily; something someone says or does or doesn’t say or do, a song, an expression, eating certain food- the list goes on. And there will probably be many occasions when you have a hardy laugh out loud when you think of your dad.
My favourite memory of your father is when he would come to Edmonton, unannounced, to watch the races. I remember hearing the doorbell ring very early in the morning- and think, “Who could that be?”. I would then hear a bellowing voice announcing it was your father and my mom and him would then sit in the kitchen for a few hours over many cups of coffee discussing the many issues of the day. There may have been a few minor complaints about baba as well….when I walkex in he would always address me as “young lady”. Made me feel particularly mature when I was 12!

Our sincere condolences to all Jackie's family from Keith and Valerie MacPherson in Little Sands, PE. My Aunt Mary taught Jackie in the Wood Idlands West School. She also provide the credentials he required at the time to enter the military. He remained a life long friend to Mary and her husband Carman, and they spoke often on the phone right up to her death in 2019. He was always referred to as "Jackie" in our family, and I remember meeting him on several occasions when on PEI. Peace and blessings.

Dear Aunt Dolores and Family,
Sending our deepest sympathy with the passing of our beloved Uncle Jack. We so looked forward to his visits to Hamilton. He was full of fun and kept us all laughing for the better part of the day. I found this picture of Uncle Jack, Kenny (my Dad) and Uncle Peter, taken in Wood Islands in 1952 on their sister Margaret's wedding day.
With much love and prayers,
Debbie Emery-Magier and family.
