Meredith. So saddened to hear of Ian’s passing! I enjoyed my time working in the Health office when Ian was working. Although, he was a dedicated worker, he seemed to be most proud of his family, especially you Meredith. My deepest sympathy!

Dear Meredith, We were so shocked to hear of Ian's passing so shortly after having a phone call from him to hear how Ken was doing. A reminder for us that we only have today, so live it to the fullest. Ian was such a kind, gentle person and he will be missed at Rotary. May you feel God's arms around you as you grieve, Meredith and family. We are so sorry for your loss. We will be watching the service online. Ken & Margaret Wilson

Dear Meredith
I am so sorry to hear about Ian’s passing, he was such a wonderful and gracious man. I still remember when he chaired the international scholarship committee for Rotary and I sat on that committee for a number of years with him. You were even along when we drove to Regina for the provincial interviews one year and that was a delightful trip as Ian was always so much fun. Ian had the warmest smile and always made everyone he encountered feel so welcomed and appreciated. I know from seeing you both out at various community events what a close and caring couple you were with each other. What a huge loss in your life and for your family. No doubt Ian will be missed in the community but so much more by you and his family. Ian’s strong and gentle spirit will live on in many hearts and especially yours. Sending deepest condolences. Karen Heise

Ian graced family gatherings with his gently caring smile. Our paths crossed later in life, serendipitously and infrequently, but memorably. You are lost to this life, Ian, but your warmth remains sustainingly in our hearts. Thankyou for this gift - herein lies my lesson: the enduring opportunity to reflect this warmth to others.

I knew Ian through the Probus club. I found him to be a friendly, gracious and non assuming man. He was a keener in our photography classes. I “looked up” to him all the time. I’ll have fond memories.

Condolences to the Sutherland family on the passing of Ian. Many years ago their daughter Megan was a camp staff with me through the YMCA. I have carried such highly positive memories and hold both Ian and Meredith as kind and giving people who cherished their family and their community.

I’m sorry to hear this news. I had the privilege of working with Ian at the beginning of my health care leadership career. He was a mentor and always available for advice. He will be missed on Lake Crescent. Thoughts and prayers with you Meredith and your family- Ian always spoke so dearly and proudly of all of you.

To the Sutherland family - I had the privilege of serving with Ian on both the TCUP board of directors as well as the Saskatoon Community Foundation board of directors. Ian was a passionate hardworking, meticulous(!) and proud member of our community. His thoughtfulness and dedication were admired by all - thanks to his family for sharing Ian with the volunteer community - we are all better and stronger for it. A tremendous loss.
