Alexander John (Jack) Gibson
July 20, 1929 – Nov. 21, 2017
Jack Gibson passed away peacefully at home Nov. 21, 2017.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Alice (nee Downing) and by his children Paul (Karen), Steven (Jennifer), Ann and John, and grandchildren Eric, Connor and Katelynn.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Alex and Margaret (nee Shaw Parker) Gibson and sister Kathleen Law.
Jack was born in Dumbarton Scotland. He was educated in Scotland and earned a Law Degree from the University of Glasgow. He worked in the military intelligence in the British Army of the Rhine. Jack came to Canada in 1964 and was a Personal Administrator for the Federal Public Service from 1967 to 1993 in Vancouver, Edmonton and Saskatoon.
Jacks family was very important to him – he spent many hours doing activities with them, driving them to lessons, making sure they all learned how to play golf, and had good golf clubs.
Jack enjoyed painting, playing the keyboard, crossword puzzles, reading and traveling. For many years Jack was very active in the Rotary Club and Until very recently Seven Seas Toastmasters Club.
