Obituary of Jessie Isabel Gray
Jessie passed away peacefully on a beautiful Sunday morning, surrounded by all of her sons and daughters, at Oliver Lodge where she had resided for the last two years. Jessie was the youngest in the family born to William and Christina Frame and was raised on a farm near Lacadena, Saskatchewan. She received her education at the Lacadena School and trained to become a teacher. After teaching for a number of years, she married Ernie Gray on June 29, 1946. Together, over the next sixty years, they developed a lifelong love of the farm and raised their family. Jessie was very involved in her community and active in a number of organizations. These included the Lacadena Farm Womens Club, figure skating clubs, 4H clubs, history book committees and the United Church where she played organ and provided leadership for the choir for many years. She and Ernie travelled quite extensively where they met many new friends and renewed acquaintances with family members in Scotland. Jessie particularly enjoyed quilting, Bronco hockey games, and all the farm animals. Eventually as retirement approached, they began to move to Saskatoon for the winter months and enjoyed condo living at Heritage Green.
Jessie is survived by her children, Don (Cheryl) Gray, Margaret (Art) Erickson, Darrell (Linda) Gray, Sharon (Murray) Ferguson and Rhonda (John) MacDonald .
